  • You repaired my BMW riding coat with a new zipper last fall/winter. The new zipper has worked great and has been the road about 5,000 miles so far this 2020 riding season. Great work. Thank you!

  • I just received back the jacket I sent you for repair. Two things: First, holy moly, that was fast!! Second, you did an amazing job. The repair is unrecognizable as a repair--just perfect--and the zipper runs smoother than I recall it running even when new. It's good to see that excellent craftsmanship is alive and well! Thank you!

  • Hi all, I just wanted to thank you for the great job you did on my jacket. It looks like it's new and I couldn't be any happier! 🙂 I will definitely recommend you and come back if I need another repair! Stay safe! Best,

If you’ve ever trusted Rainy Pass Repair, Inc. to bring your favorite gear back to life, you already share our belief that outdoor gear deserves to stay in play as long as possible.

Now, we’re taking that mission one step further with the Pass Down Program — a new recycling initiative that brings manufacturing-level recycling to consumers.

For 40 years, Rainy Pass Repair, Inc. has been working hard to keep gear in circulation. Now, thanks to our partnership with Material Return LLC, we are helping close the loop on outdoor apparel waste. For items that are no longer functional or not cost effective to repair, we have another option to keep it out of the landfill.

Our president, Bob Upton, puts it best:
“This program empowers people to reduce waste and be part of a larger circular solution, especially for complex materials that have traditionally been challenging to recycle and harmful to the environment.”

Here’s how it works:
You send us your worn-out gear. We carefully disassemble each item, sort the recyclable materials, and send them off to be fiberized and repurposed into a new raw material stream.
The result? New products made from old gear, such as:
Dog bedding (from high-quality synthetic fibers)
Automotive insulation (often from waterproof breathable fabric and similar materials)

We can currently recycle:
Technical apparel (rainwear, skiwear, and more!)
Tents and rainflies
Synthetic sleeping bags
Backpacks
Fishing waders
And this is just the beginning— we’ll be expanding the list soon.

With the Pass Down Program, we’re forging new paths to ensure your gear is handled responsibly - even when repair is no longer an option. We’re making it easier than ever to reduce waste and extend the life of outdoor gear—together.

Thank you for being part of our community and for supporting sustainable living.

With gratitude,
The Rainy Pass Repair Team
We’re closed for the holiday, see you on Monday!
